East West Center For Counselling conducted a one day workshop on Expressive Arts Therapy on

RYLA - ROTARY MADRAS SOUTH (15-10-2016 and 16-10-2016)
The East West Center For Counselling and Rotary Club combined and conducted a two days camp at Ennore Chennai. 54 students from Chennai girls school participated in the camp.
OBJECTIVE
The core objective of the camp is to enhance the leadership quality in students.
SESSIONS
1# There were different sessions conducted for the students of chennai girls, based on expressive arts. One was collage making through which the students were asked to create a collage out of magazine pictures reflecting themselves and there feelings.
2# A role play session was conducted by CFC staff which also had an impact on the students.The session helped the students to find their strength and weakness.
FEEDBACK
1# In each session the students took interest in making their piece of art to the best of their ability covering every aspect of the way they wants their lives to turn out to be.
2# The students found it very useful as they were able to get to know each other on a more broader note and also to understand oneself better.
3# Through proper guidance and support each child can achieve their dreams.

Training Program On Basic Counselling Skills
East West Center for Counselling conducted a 6-day intensive training program on counselling skills, from 26-9-2016 to 1-10-2016 at our center in Nungambakkam.
Both practical and theoretical sessions were conducted.

Expressive Arts Therapy (EAT) workshops at Madras School Of Social Work (MSSW)
East West Center for Counselling conducted a two workshop at MSSW, for the final year post graduate students and for the final year UG students of psychology on 8th, 9th, 15th, 16th of September 2016. Around 25 students attended each of the workshop.

Course Requirement is as follows:
- The course is taught in English, students
applying have to understand, read and speak English fairly well, if not
the student needs to let us know how she/ he plans to write assignments
etc.
- 100% Class attendance
- All students agree to do 40 hours
of personal therapy with a therapist of their own choice.
- Completions of all assignments,
and project work. All this is graded and the grade will appear on
your certificate.
- Students get supervision either by
skype/ direct meetings with an assigned supervisor
- Students write and pass an ethics
examination which is a written exam

Fill in your application form and attach
relevant documentation and post it with a cheque in favor
of "East West Center for Counselling and Trg Pvt Ltd" for
Rs 500.
- You will
hear from us within a week. If you are admitted into the programme you
will have to pay the first instalment of fees immediately to book your
seat. Total number of seats is 20. We have students from different parts
of India and abroad applying for this course. Fees once paid is not
refundable as we are securing the seat and cannot take any more students.
Who are the teachers of this course?
Teachers are registered and practicing
therapists, professors from colleges/ universities from different parts of the
world.
What are the components we cover in
this course?
Psychodrama, Art therapy, Dance/
movement therapy, storytelling as therapy, Music therapy, Counselling, and
Expressive Arts Therapy.
This is a 14 credits course. You will
cover 300 hours class work, 50 hours in assignments, 70 hours on your project,
10 hours of supervision and 40 hours of personal therapy. This is a total of
470 hours.
How much is the course fee?
Tuition fees, supervision fees,
field visit fees, association membership fees, course materials Rs 1,10,000/=
Students have to pay this in two or three installments.
Who can apply?
If you are working in an NGO, if you
are already working with children - ( special
educators, Montessori teachers)or working as a health care
professional (doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, social
workers, counsellors, HR professionals, Corporate Trainers, Life Coaches. This
training will enable you to perform your work with more tools. This is not a
Art based Therapy course this is Expressive Arts therapy and we expect students
who are applying to have some academic or arts competence.
You should have completed a Masters
degree but if you are graduate it has to be in fine arts, psychology or Social
work. If you do not have the necessary educational qualification we will
consider your experience if that is relevant.
Men and women are eligible to be apply,
since most alternate therapy courses have a lot of women candidates, male
candidates are encouraged to apply.
