Loving Ourselves: Mental health & Self-care for Queer and Trans People

Valentine's Day and discussions of love and romance elicit mixed emotions in the LGBTIQA+ communities.

While some of us look forward to celebrating the day with our significant others, for others the day seems no more than  a ploy to reinforce heteronormative ideals and further consumer capitalism.

Further, memories of relationships  that have ended,  discomfort with being single, peer pressure, and/or projection of  coupledom as a universal life  goal, can all contribute to angst, the blues, or worse.

Magdalene Jeyarathnam,
a noted queer- and trans- affirmative counselor, will facilitate a discussion on romantic relationships, singledom, self-care and coping with the V-day frenzy. Participants are encouraged to share their feelings and seek support in  a non-judgmental and affirming environment.

Saturday, February 13, 2021: 3pm-5pm. Register online at tinyurl.com/saathii-feb13.
